The construction of a one stop border post at Katuna on the Uganda-Rwanda has stalled after the World Bank pulled out of the project. The approximately 14 billion shillings that had already been committed to the project could go to waste after lawmakers of the East African Legislative assembly discovered that the building under construction has developed huge cracks and it was constructed in a wetland. The government says at least 50,000 Ugandans work as unskilled labourers in Middle Eastern countries. On my recent charity tour, I encountered a scarcity in the things I had planned to give out due to the large number of children and women I found in the settlement place I visited and I cried out to my friends and family in Sweden to contribute to this cause and see that these children and women get warm clothes to use during this wet season in Uganda. I made a message group to which 25 people contributed and in within 4 days we managed to raise 5,375.SEK which was used to buy clothes for more than 500 women and children. This is one of the best things I have seen happen in my life and on behalf of the people we helped, I stand to thank all who made this possible.

In the 21st century, for many young people "finding a job" is just not an option. And in Uganda, with youth unemployment at around 66 percent, the highest rate in Africa, schools need to tailor their education to meet the different needs of society. Educate! is an experience-based education model where a mentor goes into a secondary school with 40 "scholars". The mentor spends time with the scholars, delivering sessions on entrepreneurship, leadership, critical thinking and problem solving. The pedagogy enables the use of games, group work and encourages public speaking. The scholars are encouraged to set up businesses, which are open to everyone in the school. They are also encouraged to be responsive to the needs of their local communities. "Uganda has such a huge young demographic, o...
